MOYOCK, N.C. — A Norfolk man faces multiple criminal charges following a Friday night incident, according to the Currituck County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident started when a Currituck County Sheriff’s Office deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle, according to a Facebook post from the sheriff’s office. During the stop, the vehicle sped away from deputies.
Deputies later pursued the vehicle through Moyock and across the state line before bringing the chase to a close in Virginia, the post stated.
The Currituck County Sheriff’s office said Charles Turner, 35, of Norfolk, is charged with felony flee to elude, felony assault on a government official, reckless drive to endanger, speeding, open container of alcohol, possess marijuana paraphernalia, failure to yield, and drive left of center.
