NORTH CAROLINA, USA — The Newland Park construction has made major progress, Pasquotank County officials announced in a social media post.
The park project began in August and will include a walking trail, playground and other amenities for residents. On Friday, county officials gave an update on the construction's progress.
So far, the stone base placement has been completed for the entrance road and parking lot; the stone base for the walking trail is complete up to concrete walks; a majority of the water and sewer installation is complete; the basketball court stone base is complete; and the drainage swales and pipe installation is almost complete.
According to officials, the next steps for the park's construction are as follows:
- Curb and gutter/concrete staking
- Concrete placement to begin this week
- Concrete sidewalks
- Asphalt on walking trail and courts to start within three weeks
- Concrete shelter pads and concrete restroom pads to be placed in the next two to three weeks
- Asphalt entry drive and parking lot paving, coordinating with building contractor on start and completion of their scope
