Man who police say exposed himself on Kitty Hawk beach recaptured by police

The Dare County Sheriff's Office arrested Zane Reynolds Wednesday after he escaped police custody during a transfer Tuesday.

MANTEO, N.C. — The Dare County Sheriff's Office arrested Zane Reynolds, 33, Wednesday.

The man who police say exposed himself on a Kitty Hawk Beach in early April escaped police custody when Nags Head police were taking him to the Dare County Detention Center Tuesday night.

Reynolds is charged with:

  • Two counts of Attempted Breaking and Entering
  • One count of First-Degree Trespassing
  • Two counts Resisting a Public Officer
  • One count of Escaping Custody

Police also arrested Kelly Kruszewski, 34, for harboring a fugitive.

Kelly Kruszewski was charged with harboring a fugitive after police recaptured Zane Reynolds.

Police arrested Reynolds on May 1 after they were called to a home on Parker Street in Kitty Hawk for an incident. He was arrested and charged with First Degree Burglary and Assault.

Reynolds is being held on a $90,000 bond while Kruszewski is being held on a $10,000 bond.
