KILL DEVIL HILLS, N.C. (WVEC) — Police have arrested a driver who hit and killed a man on Friday, November 30.
Guy Vanderver, 55, was crossing U.S. 158 near 1822 N. Croatan Highway around 9:40 p.m.
Kill Devil Hills police reconstructed the crash for their investigation and determined 37-year-old Michael Draper was traveling northbound when he hit Vanderver.
Police served Draper with a search warrant for his blood to determine if alcohol was a factor. Draper has been charged with Felony Death by Motor Vehicle.
People claimed to have witnessed the accident on social media, but the only witnesses who came forward were those police found at the scene.
