DARE COUNTY, N.C. — A man was arrested for drug charges and traffic violations, the Dare County Sheriff's Office said.
18-year-old John Cooper of Moseley, Virginia was charged with felony possession of a Schedule 1 controlled substance and felony possession of marijuana.
Around 9 p.m. on August 10, Kill Devils Hills police pulled Cooper over on US 158 near the intersection of West Eden St. When deputies stopped Cooper they found probable cause to search his vehicle. They found and seized psilocybin mushrooms, marijuana, THC wax and gummies.
Cooper was also cited for multiple traffic violations. He was issued a $5,000 secured bond after processing.
