MOYOCK, N.C. — The Currituck County Sheriff’s Office is working on a situation in the Moyock Commons Business District area and has announced it is closed to the public.
“Please stay away from the area, and traffic is being rerouted around the area,” the sheriff’s office posted on Facebook. “Thank you for your understanding.”
The Moyock Volunteer Fire Department and Currituck County Emergency Management both posted on Facebook that Caratoke Highway is shut down between Sawyertown Road and Tulls Creek Road in Moyock. Traffic on NC 168 is being rerouted, and the public is asked to avoid the area of Lark Drive and Moyock Commons Drive.
Some stores in the shopping center, including Care-A-Lot Pet Supply, also said they will be closed for the remainder of the day “due to unforeseen circumstances.”
