GREENSBORO, N.C. — Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris visited Charlotte and Greensboro on Thursday, Sept. 12.
Her message was clear in both rallies.
She said she'd unify the country while Former President Donald Trump would divide it.
Harris emphasized that the Harris-Walz administration would prioritize expanding Americans' rights, beginning with extending abortion rights nationwide and advocating for legislation to restore protections under Roe v. Wade.
A major focus of her speech today was on making healthcare more affordable. She committed to expanding Medicaid eligibility and reducing the cost of prescription drugs.
Additionally, Harris vowed to urge Congress to pass laws aimed at reversing climate change.
"America is ready for a new way forward," said Harris. "I will always put country above party, and I will be a president for all Americans. Donald Trump is trying to pull us backward. We are fighting for a better future."
She promised to build new homes during her first term, provide tax cuts for middle-class families, and safeguard abortion rights. Additionally, she plans to offer $6,000 for new parents to support their children, enact an assault rifle ban, and strengthen background checks.
It is worth noting that Harris' aggressive approach to campaigning in North Carolina is all part of the campaign's strategy to flip the state in the general election.
