ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. — On Tuesday, Oct. 8, at around 10 p.m., emergency responders reported to 546 Okisko Rd. for a residential fire.
The residence was occupied by a father and his adult son, aged 27. The son was inside of the home when the fire broke out, and was removed by emergency responders. Life saving measures were attempted, but he passed away on the scene, according to the Pasquotank County Sheriff's Office.
The Sheriff's Office found after an investigation that the fire began on the second floor of the home, and the fire was caused accidentally. Pending an autopsy, the investigation is ongoing.
