COROLLA, N.C. (WVEC) -- It was a very happy Mother's Day for one mama horse in Corolla. And now her foal has a name!
Staffers with the Corolla Wild Horse Fund named the foal Castano II. In Spanish, 'castano' means brown, chestnut or auburn.
They also named the foal after a Corolla stallion named Castano.
Staffers also say that mom and baby are doing well.
The foal was born on May 13. The Corolla Beach Music Facebook page shared photos of mom and baby spending some time together on the beach that Sunday.
