3rd annual Hot Cocoa Crawl returns to Elizabeth City for holiday season

Elizabeth City, which dubs itself the "Hot Cocoa Capital of the World," started its Hot Cocoa Crawl on Nov. 24 and it will continue until Jan. 7.

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. — If you're looking for a fun holiday event and want to try delicious hot cocoa drinks, the Elizabeth City Hot Cocoa Crawl is a great event to try out.

Elizabeth City, which calls itself the "Hot Cocoa Capital of the World," started its Hot Cocoa Crawl on Nov. 24 and will continue until Jan. 7. Organizers call it a seasonal event.

Over 40 local businesses and organizations have come together to create "a trail of the yummiest hot cocoa and treats and cocoa-inspired themed gifts".

There have been several holiday events taking place in Elizabeth City to go along with the trail of hot cocoa and there are still some more to come that are perfect to check out before or after getting your hot chocolate fix. You can find events on Visit Elizabeth City's website.

Some businesses participating are Muddy Waters Coffeehouse with steamed milk infused with seasonal flavors, whipped cream and cocoa drizzle; Montero's Restaurant with house-made hot cocoa spiked with Malibu Rum, whipped topping and toasted coconut; and Electric Garden with festive 100% plant-based frozen Cacao No Cow smoothie, but there are many more places to try out.

There are also several Elizabeth City businesses selling merch and fun gifts for the holidays like mugs hand made ornaments, wax melts and more.

You can find more information on all the many businesses participating and events going on by checking out Elizabeth City's Hot Cocoa Crawl page.
