Crew aboard grounded ship near Oregon Inlet removed by Coast Guard

A crew from Air Station Elizabeth City removed the crew aboard the grounded fishing ship for safety reasons.

The U.S. Coast Guard removed a crew aboard a grounded ship as a safety precaution on Sunday.

Station Oregon Inlet said in a Facebook post that it received a report around 8 a.m. of a 72-foot fishing ship grounded offshore near the navigation channel.

The Coast Guard immediately responded.

The Coast Guard advised other ships to proceed with caution if they came close to the area.

Around 11:40 a.m., a crew from Air Station Elizabeth City removed the crew from the grounded ship for safety reasons.
