MANTEO, N.C. — A Rodanthe house that collapsed Friday morning knocked the neighboring house into the ocean, the Cape Hatteras National Seashore said.
Seashore law enforcement rangers responded to a call reporting a house collapse at 23009 G A Kohler Court in Rodanthe. When rangers arrived, they confirmed the house was damaged by the house that collapsed earlier that day at 23001 G A Kohler Court.
Seashore officials strongly urge all visitors to avoid the beaches and stay out of the water around all areas of the beaches and surf in Rodanthe. No one was inside the home at the time, and no injuries were reported.
National Park Service staff will be on the beach again today to assist with moving debris above the high tide line.
