ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. — Elizabeth City in North Carolina will soon be the home of the state's fifth Wawa location.
In a press release, the company said it is "thrilled" to continue its North Carolina expansion, with stores in Kill Devil Hills, Wilson, Rocky Mount, Greenville, Goldsboro and Elizabeth City.
The grand opening event will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony with local officials, an announcement of grants from The Wawa Foundation, a “Hoagies for Heroes” hoagie-building competition between first responders benefitting local charities, free t-shirts for the first 100 customers and a free any-size hot coffee from Thursday, Oct. 31 through Sunday, Nov. 10, 2024.
Doors open at 8:00 a.m. on Halloween at 406 Halstead Boulevard.
Over the next decade, Wawa said it plans to build and open a total of 90 stores across the Tar Heel State.
