NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) --- If you’re looking for good coffee, there is place in Norfolk that has been doing it the old-fashioned way for generations.
“You have to make sure the product is 100 percent right,” said Chris Stephanitsis, owner of the Norfolk Coffee & Tea Co.
The shop, located off Monticello Avenue, is celebrating 100 years in business this year.
“My grandfather was looking for the American dream,” said Stephanitsis.
Beloved locals, politicians, and celebrities have all tried their coffee. It’s a business that began with Chris’ grandfather Frank, an immigrant from Greece, who roasted coffee in a shop the size of a small room.
Chris is now a third generation owner.
“My grandfather was here until he was 100,” said Chris’ daughter Kassie Stephanitsis. “So we pray that my dad will be here just as long.”
