Wheel of Fortune LIVE! rolling into Virginia Beach

Hampton Roads residents can watch the beloved game — and even have a chance to participate — during the stage show later this month.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Fans of the game show Wheel of Fortune will have a shot to play during a stage show in Virginia Beach next week.

Wheel of Fortune LIVE! is a theatrical adaptation of the television show that intends to bring the beloved game to more fans. And Hampton Roads residents can watch the game — and even have a chance to participate — at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts on Feb 27.

Mark Walberg, the host of Wheel of Fortune LIVE!, explained that the stage show allows fans from all corners of the U.S. to participate in the fun many of them have grown up watching.

"Not everybody is going to make it to Hollywood to watch a taping of Wheel of Fortune in Hollywood, so we bring that experience to the people throughout the country," said Walberg.

In a press release,  organizers said "guests are randomly selected to go on stage and feel like they stepped into the game show itself. The live stage show is the only way you can have the chance to spin a full-sized replica of the iconic Wheel."

Some lucky attendees will get called up on stage to play games and may have a chance to win a trip or up to $10,000 in cash.

"Everyone gets in on the fun and a chance to win at Wheel of Fortune LIVE! because there are audience games too," the press release reads.

Organizers said Wheel of Fortune Live! is a live touring production and not for broadcast, so hosts Pat Sajak and Vanna White will not be in attendance.

"What I like about [the touring show] is for 90 minutes every night we get a bunch of people in a theater, doing a stage version of the show," said Walberg. "Whatever worries we have in the world don't matter for a little while. We're just playing some games and enjoying a common love."
