Virginia Beach hosting sports mental health symposium featuring retired NFL players

The event takes place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The symposium will highlight the struggles and successes of athletes and student-athletes.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Sen. Aaron Rouse and retired NFL linebacker Eli Harold are coming together to discuss athletes' mental health and wellness on Monday.

"Rouse's House" Mental Health & Wellness Sports Symposium is an opportunity for the community to gather and discuss issues and highlight the struggles and successes of athletes and student-athletes.

Sen. Rouse, who is heading the symposium, is also a retired NFL safety for the Green Bay Packers. Harold was a San Francisco 49ers linebacker. 

13News Now Anchor Eugene Daniel will be moderating the event. There will be vendors in attendance and an interactive panel discussion.

The event takes place between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. on Monday at Zeider's American Dream Theatre. You can find more information and register for free on their event page.
