VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A victim is recovering after a shooting in Virginia Beach that happened earlier this month, said Virginia Beach officials on Tuesday.
In a news release from the Virginia Beach police on Tuesday, police say that they added a new charge to 34-year-old Kristin Barber's offenses.
On October 7 around 9:14 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting at the intersection of Indian River Road and Lynnhaven Parkway.
When officers arrived they found a victim with a life-threatening gunshot wound on their upper body. They were transported to a hospital in a critical condition.
A passenger in the victim's vehicle, Kristin Barber of Virginia Beach, was arrested and initially charged with reckless handling of a firearm, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and child neglect.
The police added additional charges of aggravated malicious wounding and shooting in a vehicle on Saturday.
Police say that the victim remains in critical condition but is stable.
