VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — 3 people and 2 dogs were displaced from their home after a house fire in Virginia Beach which started late Sunday night.
Virginia Beach Fire Department (VBFD) says they responded to a house fire in the 1000 block of Wessex Lane in the Lake James section of the city around 11:53 p.m. VBFD along with VBRescue, Virginia Beach Police and auto-aid from Chesapeake Fire Department all responded to the fire.
When firefighters got to the scene they saw heavy fire coming from the home with a house next door receiving heat damage to its side.
The fire was marked under control in about 20 minutes just before 12:15 a.m.
Three residents and 2 dogs are displaced due to the damage. No injuries to residents or firefighters were reported.
The cause is under investigation.
