Three displaced following house fire in Virginia Beach

Two people were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and minor burns.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Three people are out of their home following a house fire in Virginia Beach on Monday night.

The Virginia Beach Fire Department (VBFD) said firefighters were called to the 1500 block of Big Boulder Drive around 7:46 p.m., in the Landstown section of the city.  Crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the left side of the home.

The fire was brought under control within minutes and was fully marked out at 9:11.

VBFD said two men and a woman have been displaced, but that the Red Cross was not needed to help them find lodging. Additionally, two civilians were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and minor burns. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
