VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — The Virginia Beach Fire Department is investigating a fire that displaced several people and their dog on Tuesday afternoon.
VBFD crews were dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of 15th Street just before 3 p.m. When they arrived at the scene, crews found heavy smoke coming from the first-story garage of a three-story duplex.
The fire was contained in the garage and was marked out by firefighters by 3:30 p.m. The fire was found to start on the first-floor garage, but the cause of it is still under investigation.
No one was hurt in this fire, but four people, including one teenager and their dog, were displaced.
The Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced residents.
