VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A woman is dead after a two-vehicle crash on Holland Road on Friday night.
It was around 8:02 p.m. when Virginia Beach police were called to a crash at the intersection of Holland Road and Governors Way.
Police said the man driving a vehicle involved in the crash ran from the scene. Officers were able to apprehend him.
The woman driving the other vehicle hit in the crash died from her injuries at the scene, police said.
The man was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The roads near the scene are back open.
Police said at this time speed and alcohol may be contributing factors to this crash.
The case remains under investigation by members of the Fatal Crash Team.
