Megan Kayla DeJesus who is charged with Voluntary Manslaughter is being held in the Virginia Beach City Jail on no bond

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va (WVEC) -- Police have arrested the woman suspected of fatally stabbing a man Sunday morning.

Just after midnight on Sept. 27, police responded to the 400 block of Sedgewick Court. Police found an adult man with fatal injuries.

20-year-old Megan Kayla DeJesus of Virginia Beach was arrested by police.

DeJesus was charged with Voluntary Manslaughter.

On Oct. 27, DeJesus was issued a $2,500 surety bond. According to the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office, she must comply with pre-trial services and will have weekly phone check-ins with pre-trial services; may not drive; may not drink alcohol; must submit to random drug screenings; must be evaluated for substance abuse counseling; may not have contact with the victim's family unless contact is initiated by the victim's family.

"The Commonwealth did not object to bond given the very minimal prior record, has lots of ties to the community, a place to reside, and fact that she has no failures to appear," spokeswoman Macie Pridgen Allen said.
