VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Three adults were displaced after a house fire in Virginia Beach on Saturday night.
According to Virginia Beach Fire Department Public Information Officer Barbara Morrison, crews were dispatched to a residential structure fire in the 1000 block of Gauguin Drive at 9:47 p.m.
When crews arrived minutes later, they saw heavy smoke and flames from the fence; due to windy weather conditions, the blaze quickly spread to the two-story home. A neighboring house also sustained damage to its exterior.
Firefighters got the fire under control about 20 minutes later.
There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians. The American Red Cross has been contacted to assist with temporary housing.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
