VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — The STIHL Timbersports 2024 United season is kicking off with an epic showdown between two powerhouse nations in the sport. On May 4 in Virginia Beach, the most elite lumberjack athletes from the U.S. and Canada will battle it out at the 24th Street Park!
The inaugural North American Trophy event will feature competitors racing through four disciplines back-to-back (stock saw, underhand chop, single buck, and standing block) in a grueling elimination format, all in less than two minutes per heat.
The top-ranked athlete from both the U.S. and Canada will then advance to compete in the 2024 World Trophy in Milan, Italy, on May 25.
Organizers say the event is family-friendly and free to attend. Food trucks as well as beer will be available from a new local brewery, Aslin Beer Company. It will be held on Saturday, May 4, from 5 to 8 p.m. More information can be found on STIHL's website.
