VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Just before 7 a.m. this morning, the Virginia Beach Fire Department responded to the 4600 block of Honeygrove Road for a commercial structural fire at a self-storage facility.
When the fire department arrived, heavy smoke was observed from multiple storage units.
Crews got the fire under control at 7:18 a.m. and were able to put it out a half hour later, but four storage units had sustained major damage and several other units sustained heavy smoke damage.
There were no injuries to any people or pets, and all firefighters were safe as well. The origin and cause of the incident is still under investigation at this time.
