VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — The list of candidates running to be mayor of Virginia Beach is growing, nearly a year ahead of the election.
City Councilmember Sabrina Wooten announced her candidacy on Thursday. She joins councilmember Chris Taylor and former councilmember John Moss in the race to lead Virginia Beach.
They will all be going up against Mayor Bobby Dyer, who announced plans for re-election earlier this year.
Wooten first joined the city council in November 2018, winning a special election to fill the term vacated by Dyer, who was elected as mayor earlier that year. She went on to win re-election two years later.
The election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
