Police: Woman escapes car after driving it into pond in Virginia Beach

The woman was driving when the car hit a stop sign. She overcorrected and the car went into a pond. She's OK.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A woman is safe after driving her car into the water in Virginia Beach on Wednesday morning, according to dispatch.

The incident happened sometime after 10:30 a.m. at 2665 West Neck Road. That's near Kellam High School.

Dispatch said the woman got out of the car and is OK. She was not injured but the car was submerged.

Police said the woman was driving when the car hit a sign. She overcorrected and the car went into the pond.
