Public workshop looks at the future of the Oceanfront

You'll have the chance to weigh in on the future of the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, as city leaders will hold a public workshop Monday evening.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — The City of Virginia Beach wants to know how to make the Oceanfront better!

The Resort Area starts at 42nd Street to Rudee Inlet and Birdneck Road. The vision for the area is to create three distinct districts at Laskin Gateway, Central Beach, and Rudee Marina.

Officials say they want to establish a transparent, inclusive, comprehensive process that defines the goals of the stakeholders and the city.

On Monday night, citizens are invited to view the progress so far and give their opinion about open space, recreation, stormwater management, and streetscape.

Officials will also talk about other general improvements regarding parking, mobility, and safety.

That meeting will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.
