VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Out of all the pizza spots in Hampton Roads, there are probably one or two you find you keep coming back to.
A longtime Virginia Beach favorite is Toni's Pizza on Holland Rd. in Timberlake Shopping Center.
Owner George Giorgou touted on his loyal customer base, which he says started 38 years ago when the restaurant first opened it's doors. The pizza even transcends generations.
"For us to have customers for the entire time and we're serving their children and their grandchildren which I don't know if that's a comfort to me," Giorgou said.
The first generation American credits his Greek family's work ethic for being able to survive the highs and lows of the restaurant business.
"It's a very difficult business. We make all of our sauces...we make all of our own meatballs. It's a lot of work," Giorgou added.
However, Giorgou says the customers have made every day working at Toni's Pizza a dream.
"Love for our customers...that's what makes this business very worthwhile."
