VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., (WVEC) -- Virginia Beach city leaders are looking over several pitches for a new pier at the oceanfront.
The Virginian-Pilot reported that one proposal pitched by a group of oceanfront landowners want an open space for the community and tourists.
That proposal would build the pier on 17th Street — two blocks north of the current pier.
It would include a new hotel, Ferris wheel and a public park on the pier over the water.
The city also received pitches from developer Bruce Thompson and the owners of the existing pier on 15th Street.
