VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — The City of Virginia Beach wants to hear from its residents to get a better idea of what they want the new Rudee Park to look like.

Back in 2022, an initial survey of more than 4,000 Virginia Beach residents found that, rather than resorts or retail, the community overwhelmingly wanted Rudee Loop to become a green, open space with amenities like a playground and public seating.

Now, the city is conducting another survey to find out what specific features should be included in the design.

The survey looks to better understand the community's vision for the space by asking residents to rank their favorites among dozens of examples for different designs for park, water access, playground, event and art spaces.

The designs range from active to immersive, high capacity to small-scale and natural to urban.

The survey is accepting responses beginning now through Jan. 10, 2025.
