Virginia State Police investigating crash on I-264

Virginia State Police responded to a crash involving five vehicles on I-264 westbound in Virginia Beach.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Police are investigating a crash in Virginia Beach on Friday night, Virginia State Police (VSP) said.

VSP responded to a multi-vehicle crash on I-264 westbound, east of Rosemont Road around 11:24 p.m.

According to police, a preliminary investigation revealed that 26-year-old Davian Wallace was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-264 when his 2015 Chrysler 200 hit a 2024 Kia Soul, driven by a 16-year-old boy, head-on. After hitting the Kia, a 2012 Nissan Pathfinder hit the Kia in the rear and pushed it into a 2009 Honda CRV.

Wallace and the 16-year-old driver were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

All westbound lanes were closed for hours until 4:10 a.m. when the crash was cleared, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

The cause of the crash has not been determined. VSP is still investigating this incident.
