VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- The Mermaid is about to make its way closer to the ocean -- Mermaid Winery, that is.
The business, which has its original location on West 22nd Street in Ghent, will celebrate the grand opening of its location in Virginia Beach on March 15.

The address in Virginia Beach is 4401 Shore Drive. People will be able to see the winemaking process while they visit a wine bar. The space also includes a restaurant and an event room.
The winery, which uses grapes from Virginia and California, was dubbed the state's first urban winery when it opened in Norfolk in 2012.
Although the grand opening on Shore Drive takes place on March 15, members of the Mermaid Winery Wine Club have the chance to see visit the location during preview events on March 9 and March 10. Tickets for the preview events are free for club members, but registration is required.
