VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for burglary, the Virginia Beach Commonwealth's Attorney Office said.
55-year-old Albert Laval Watson was found guilty of statutory burglary and grand larceny.
According to officials, on Oct. 23, Watson broke into a house through a sliding door on the second-story balcony, stole multiple items including two televisions, and left the house.
The house was empty. However, when the owner of the home returned, she reported seeing her house open and the deadbolt was still extended. She also found several beer cans scattered around the house.
Virginia Beach police responded to the burglary. When officers arrived, they found fingerprints that were later matched to Watson.
Watson was sentenced to 30 years in prison with 20 years suspended, leaving 10 years to serve.
