VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., (WVEC) -- A Virginia Beach jury found Leonard Allen Morrison guilty of first-degree murder Wednesday in the deaths of two men, PIO Macie Allen said in a news release.
Morrison could spend two life terms plus 28 years in prison, Allen said.
Prosecutors said Morrison and his accomplice, James Gregory, killed 28-year old John Rathjen and 23-year old Rayvon Miles in a home off Lynnhaven Parkway on June 10, 2017.
Prosecutors said this was a planned robbery of the two victims by both defendants.
Detectives said the victims were shot twice and robbed of their wallets, phones and other electronics.
Morrison is also facing charges in Hampton.
Just days after the Virginia Beach double shooting, Morrison is accused of shooting a Hampton police officer.
Last June, police responded to a robbery at a Game Stop.
Police said Morrison ran out of the store -- when an officer tried to take him down -- he allegedly took that officer's gun and shot him.
The officer, who was wearing a bullet-proof vest, survived.
Another officer then shot Morrison several times leaving him paralyzed from the waist down.
Gregory will face trial in Virginia Beach on Tuesday.
Gregory faces two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of robbery and four counts use of a firearm.
