VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — U.S. Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia came to Hampton Roads on Monday to focus on the issue of workforce development.
Scalia toured STIHL Incorporated in Virginia Beach, where he reviewed the apprenticeship program there. During his visit, Scalia talked about jobs, open across the country, and the skilled workers needed to fill them.
"Apprenticeships are a way that we think is extremely valuable and having businesses participate in identifying the right jobs that are around now and jobs that will be around in the future," Scalia said.
