VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Give Local 757 brings people together to make a difference for local nonprofits that deliver vital services to everyone in our Hampton Roads community.
Serving Hampton Roads since 1946, care for the community is at the center of Jewish Family Service of Tidewater Inc.'s mission.
Whether it’s a food drive and delivering meals, collecting presents for kids during the holidays, or providing a full spectrum of mental health assistance, the non-profit goes above and beyond to make the region a better place to live.
Jewish Family Service is the service agency of choice for all members of the local Jewish community.
More than 300 Jewish clients facing poverty received food or financial assistance from the organization, according to its latest numbers in 2022.
But Jewish Family Service is a resource used by the entire community. In fact, 78% of its clients are not Jewish -- they help regardless of faith or race.
That’s how the nonprofit was able to help nearly 400 people that year with counseling services related to loss, transition and healing – services that are often time difficult to access through the traditional route.
Much of the help and assistance the nonprofit offers are powered by volunteers and donations.
