Man killed in Virginia Beach motorcycle crash, police say

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Virginia Beach on Friday, police said.

The crash happened at the intersection of Kenley Road and Baxter Road, which is in the Kempsville Lake area of the city, and involved three vehicles. Police responded around 6:30 p.m.

Investigators think that the motorcycle hit a Honda Accord at the intersection, causing the Accord to hit a stopped Nissan Kicks that was waiting for a traffic signal, according to the Virginia Beach Police Department.

The motorcyclist was identified as Shawn Martin, 42, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Police didn't say if anyone else was hurt.
