Child abduction suspect Dana Plummer to have hearing in Virginia Beach

Dana Plummer, the suspect who allegedly abducted three of his children and stabbed two others, waived his right to an extradition hearing in a Maryland court.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Dana Plummer, the father who allegedly abducted three of his children and stabbed his ex-wife and a young girl multiple times in Virginia Beach, will soon find himself back in Virginia Beach for a hearing. 

The abduction, connected to the Amber Alert that was issued in the early hours of Thursday, Aug. 15, ended in a crash that killed 16-month-old Zariyah Plummer and hospitalized two of her siblings.

Plummer was also hospitalized after the crash but was released Friday afternoon and then booked into the Prince George's County Correctional Center in Maryland, where he was held without bond. 

Plummer appeared in Prince George's Court on Monday morning, according to a reporter with our sister station WUSA9. There, he waived his right to an extradition hearing. Plummer is now headed back to Virginia Beach. 

As of Monday, Aug. 19, a date has not yet been set for his arraignment, the Virginia Beach Public Information Officer said. 

Plummer faces charges of malicious wounding, parental abduction, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and domestic abuse. 

Plummer could face numerous years in prison, according to a legal analyst.
