VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Virginia Beach Commonwealth's Attorney Colin Stolle announced in a press conference Wednesday that officers involved in the shooting deaths of Angelo Perry and India Kager did not violate the law and will not face criminal prosecution.
Police Chief Jim Cervera said the tactical team was targeting Perry, a person of interest in multiple shootings and who detectives believed was about to commit another violent crime in the city.
Kager, who was in the driver seat of the car, was caught in the cross fire, Cervera said.
Perry and Kager's baby was also in the car, but was not hurt.
A spokeswoman for Stolle's office said the six-month review of the officers' actions was delayed as investigators sought to enhance the 7-Eleven surveillance captured at the scene.
