Bobcat tests positive for rabies in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- The Department of Public Health has reported that a bobcat found in Pungo has tested positive for rabies.

The bobcat was found in the 200 block of Pungo Ridge Court.

The animal has died and tested positive for the disease.

If you or your pet has had any contact or exposure to any wild animals, it is important that you you contact your physician or the Department of Heath at (757) 576-6822. Rabies is 100% fatal if left untreated.
