Crews working fire at Virginia Beach Bahama Breeze restaurant

Officials at the Virginia Beach Fire Department have called their fire investigator out to the scene to look into the cause.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Virginia Beach Fire Department officials confirm a fire at the Bahama Breeze restaurant Thursday afternoon.

Crews were called out to the structure fire on Virginia Beach Boulevard just before 12:30 p.m., according to VBFD Public Information Officer Barabara Morrison.

Firefighters at the scene said there was fire and smoke coming from the ceiling of the restaurant. They quickly put water on the fire and got the flames under control. Morrison said they were still working on hot spots, as of 2:30 p.m.

Morrison said there were no injuries and no neighboring businesses were damaged by the fire.

The VBFD's fire investigator was called out to the scene to look into the cause and origin of the fire. Morrison said the restaurant ceiling specifically was being investigated.

This is a developing story. Keep checking back for updates as they become available.
