VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Dozens of businesses from across Hampton Roads will be offering deals in Virginia Beach's Vibe Park for Small Business Saturday on Nov. 25.
“Small Business Saturday is a local’s favorite here in the ViBe District where we proudly promote locally owned and operated businesses all year,” said Kate Pittman, executive director of the ViBe Creative District nonprofit.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., storefronts and pop-up markets will be offering specials and discounts to shoppers. Organizers said 75 local businesses are expected to participate in this year's event.
Then, over at the Virginia Beach Art Center, there will be a holiday boutique featuring art and crafts from more than 50 artists.
“For this annual event, our local business community opens its doors to pop-up vendors from seven different cities. These start-up businesses need new customers to grow and find future storefronts in our region—your support makes an economic impact locally,” Pittman explained.
In addition to the holiday deals, the nonprofit is holding a neighborhood scavenger hunt where one person will win a grand prize of more than $1,000 in gift cards, cash and items like jewelry, art and clothing -- all donated by participating small businesses. The winner will be announced by Nov. 30.
Shoppers will also have a chance to treat themselves to some grub as two food trucks will be at the event. Moontide Sundries will be open near the park from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., while Clayton's Counter will be serving up food from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
