7-Eleven robbed in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Police responded to an early morning robbery at a 7-Eleven convenience store in Virginia Beach.

Authorities say it happened at 2:05 a.m. in the 400 block of Independence Blvd. According to police, the suspect entered the store and removed beer from the cooler. When a store employee confronted him, he pushed past the worker and fled the store heading northbound toward the interstate. The employee was not hurt during the incident.

Police describe the suspect as a black male between 20 and 30 years old, standing six feet tall and weighing around 175 pounds. He was wearing dark jeans and a dark hooded sweatshirt at the time of the robbery.
