VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — One adult and two children are displaced after a residential two-story structure fire in Virginia Beach Sunday night.
According to the Virginia Beach Fire Department (VBFD), crews were dispatched to the 1000 block of Smoke Tree Lane at 9:41 p.m.
When units arrived at the scene minutes later, they observed heavy smoke coming from the two-story townhome.
The VBFD said no civilians, firefighters or pets were injured in the blaze, but a family of three was displaced as a result of the fire. The Red Cross is assisting the family with relocation.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. At this time, officials said they believe the fire originated in the kitchen.
