VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Three people are in the hospital following a two-vehicle crash involving a City of Virginia Beach Public Utilities truck Saturday morning.
Virginia Beach police say, around 9:20 a.m., emergency communications received a call reporting a vehicle crash between a Toyota Tacoma and City of Virginia Beach Public Utilities Chevrolet 3500 truck in the 1500 block of Virginia Beach Boulevard.
Authorities found that the Toyota Tacoma crossed the double yellow line and struck the Chevrolet 3500.
The driver of the Toyota was taken to a local hospital with life threatening injuries, however, he is reported to be in stable condition, according to police.
The driver and passenger of the Chevrolet 3500 were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and charges are pending against the driver of the Toyota Tacoma.
Virginia Beach Boulevard, between West Lane and First Colonial Road, was closed as crews were on the scene. Police say it is now open in both directions.
