125-foot observation tower with nation's longest stainless steel slide coming to Virginia Beach

A spokesperson for Adventure Park says they are in the final stages of permitting, hoping to break ground soon and are on track to open this summer.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A 125-foot observation tower is coming to Virginia Beach this summer, officials with the Adventure Park at the Virginia Aquarium announced.

The Nautilus Observation Tower will be a part of the new Owl Creek Landing attraction across the creek from the Virginia Aquarium and the Adventure Park, according to their website.

The tower will feature 360-degree panoramic views of Virginia Beach, the nation's longest stainless steel slide taking visitors back down through the center of the tower, and stations throughout the walk up the tower educating people on native trees and wildlife.

Adventure Park said on their social media that participants will use "a special sack to wear when taking the slide down."

The tower will also connect to four treehouses suitable for young children, surrounded by over a mile of walking trails.

A spokesperson for Adventure Park says they are in the final stages of permitting, hoping to break ground soon and are on track to open this summer.
