SUFFOLK, Va. — Get ready to kick off the holiday season with Suffolk. The city's Grand Illumination Ceremony is lighting up the neighborhood this Friday.
The holiday celebration is happening in Downtown Suffolk's Market Park, right next to the Seaboard Station Railroad Museum. There, a 32-foot evergreen tree will come to life, ringing in the festivity.
That's not all the action. There will also be seasonal music, horse-drawn carriage rides, holiday-themed craft activities, and a chance to share Christmas wishes with Santa Claus; don't miss as he arrives in style.
The park will open up to visitors at 6 p.m., and festivities will run until 8 p.m.
The Grand Illumination is just the beginning of several of holiday happenings in Suffolk.
