SUFFOLK, Va. — A fire in the HVAC unit of a warehouse brought Suffolk firefighters to the 100 block of Westport Parkway on Sunday.
The fire was reported at 5:05 p.m., according to a news release from the Suffolk Department of Fire & Rescue. The location is off of Manning Bridge Road.
Engine 4 arrived at 5:10 p.m. to the mostly unoccupied warehouse with fire showing from a large heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) unit that was located on the roof in the middle of the warehouse, the press release stated.
Firefighters accessed the roof via aerial ladders and an interior roof access. The fire was isolated to the HVAC unit. No fire extended into the interior of the building, and no contents of the warehouse were damaged.
The fire was placed under control at 5:46 p.m., the press release stated. No injuries to firefighters were reported, and the cause of the fire is deemed accidental.
