SUFFOLK, Va. (WVEC) Every stop, every move of every Suffolk school bus will soon be tracked.
GPS systems will be installed in the school buses in the coming months.
It's a move that school system officials consider part of the solution to improving transportation services.
Parents in the area told 13News Now that bus tardiness has been an issue.
"The arrival times are not consistent, you know it raises concerns when you are used to certain times and the bus is arriving and it ends up being 15 minutes, half an hour, you start to worry about the safety of the children at that point," said parent Lora Smith.
GPS school bus trackers have proven successful in other school systems.
There is potential for parents to eventually track their child's bus location, but a spokesperson for the Suffolk School system says it for sure won't be in the coming year.
